Chongqing Data Center Indirect Evaporative Cooling Tower Project
Project Overview
As a crucial node in implementing China's "Eastern Data, Western Computing" national strategy, this project serves as a key intelligent computing hub within the Chengdu-Chongqing Cluster—one of China's four major AI computing hubs. It will become the core base for high-performance computing power in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle. Covering 73 mu (approximately 12.1 acres) with a total floor area of 75,000 m², the facility will provide 10,000 standard server racks and a 100,000-unit high-performance server cluster. Future operations will support high-computing scenarios such as AI training, autonomous driving, and smart manufacturing.
Operation Mode
The project adopts energy-efficient indirect evaporative cooling chillers:
l Winter: Direct cooling source for data centers
l Summer: Cooling water source for water-cooled chillers
Equipment Specifications | Indirect Evaporation Cooling Water Chiller | |
Condition 1 | Summer Rated Operation | Wet-bulb temperature: 28°C Inlet/outlet water temperature: 35°C/29°C |
Condition 2 | Winter Rated Operation | Wet-bulb temperature: 18°C Inlet/outlet water temperature: 21.5°C/16.5°C |
System Configuration
Total 16 units Aolan indirect evaporative chillers (8 units per system, 2 systems total).
l Summer: Function as cooling towers to lower water temperatures for water-cooled chillers in high-heat/humidity conditions.
l Winter/Transitional Seasons: Directly provide chilled water to terminal equipment, ensuring energy efficiency.
Technical Highlights
As an advanced cooling solution, Aolan indirect evaporative cooling chillers offer an innovative approach to data center thermal management. By reducing energy consumption and environmental impact, they establish a sustainable operational model. This technology is poised to play a vital role in advancing energy-efficient practices within the data center industry.
