Recently, the 2023 Xinjiang Autonomous Region Science and Technology Awards were announced. Among them, the project "Key technologies and industrialization for reducing building air conditioning energy consumption using natural cooling sources in western regions" jointly submitted by Aolan, Xinjiang Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., Xi'an University of Technology, China Academy of Building Research Co., Ltd. and other units won the second prize of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Science and Technology Progress Award.

With the support of the National Key R&D Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, this project combines the hot and dry climate conditions in western china with the challenges currently faced by evaporative cooling air-conditioning technology, with the main goals of ensuring a healthy and comfortable indoor environment, achieving building energy conservation, and promoting the development of green energy. The project fully utilizes the advantages of natural cold sources, including low energy consumption, free freon emissions, and extremely low carbon footprint. Through the full-chain technical path of "theoretical system research-key technology breakthroughs-high-efficiency equipment development-green energy-saving industrialization", it has achieved a number of innovative results in design methods, equipment development, and application promotion. These efforts have not only improved and filled the gaps in engineering technology, but the related demonstration projects have also demonstrated significant energy-saving and carbon-reduction effects.

As early as 2016, Aolan undertook the key research task of the "13th Five-Year Plan" National Key R&D Program "New Technologies for Heating, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Using Renewable Energy in Tibet and Northwest China". The project was accepted in 2019 and the final results were assessed by experts as reaching the international advanced level.
